Lydia Achanbisa

Lydia Achanbisa is a Child Protection Officer at BREAVEAURORA. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in social work from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Before joining BREAVEAURORA in January 2024, she worked with the King’s Village Ghana Child Assessment Center as a Social Worker and a caregiver for children who needed care and protection temporarily in a Residential Home. In the residential home, she supported children in the areas of health, education, psychological development, needs assessment, reintegration, and more. She completed her mandatory national service with the Department of Social Welfare, Bawku Municipal, and worked temporarily with other NGOs such as Self-help International and Street Children Project in Kumasi as an Intern.

Doreen Kada Abagali

Doreen Kada Abagali

In January 2024, Miss Kada, a child protection officer, joined the BRAVRAURORA team. She holds an associate degree in community health nursing from community health nurses training college Navrongo and community nutrition from college of health and well-being kintampo. She has a bachelor's degree in public health nutrition from the University of Health and Allied Sciences. In addition to her academic qualifications, she practiced as nutritionist and obtained experience from Wedam Clinic as a Community Health Nurse and at the Central Hospital as a Nutritionist. Doreen has a strong desire to support society.

Richard Gambase

Richard Gambase

Richard Gambase is a dedicated security officer at BRAVEAURORA's Walewale office, having joined the team in February of 2023. With prior experience as a Security Officer for Private Residential Homes in Accra, Mr. Gambase has honed his skills in safeguarding both lives and property.

Mr. Gambase is known for his punctuality and commitment to his work and takes great pride in fulfilling his assigned duties. He thrives in a team environment and is always eager to participate in communal activities. Additionally, he finds great joy in spending time with children.

Ali Nuha

Meet Ali Nuha - a dynamic and enthusiastic security worker at BRAVEAURORA. With his energetic persona, Ali has been a valuable asset to the organization, assisting staff and volunteers with their daily tasks.

He holds a Diploma in Basic Education and is currently pursuing a degree in Education during weekends. Ali has also completed his National Service at Sayoo Junior High School and undergone security awareness training from the West Mamprusi Municipal Police Office. Along with his professional skills, Ali is known for his active and sociable personality, making him a favorite among colleagues and friends alike.

Hamdan Mohammed

Hamdan Mohammed

Hamdan Mohammed joined the BRAVEAURORA team in 2023 as a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning  Officer. Hamdan obtained a Bachelors Degree in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies.

Hamdan had his Mandatory National Service at the Northern Regional Planning Coordinating Unit, where he was involved in monitoring government and donor projects. Hamdan was temporarily engaged in assessing District  Assemblies Agriculture Governance Index (DAGI) with SEND Ghana and also with ActionAid on the assessment of informal sector working conditions of youngmen in Nanumba North and South District Assemblies.

He later joined North East Innovation Hub in Walewale as a Programs Coordinator. Hamdan admires activities  that support children  and vulnerable people.

Rachia Yakubu

Rachia Yakubu

Rachia Yakubu joined the Brave Aurora team in the last quarter of 2022. She is responsible for cleaning and maintaining a hygienic office space for the team in Walewale. She has also assisted in other casual activities in the office. She was previously engaged with Zoomlion Ghana before joining the Brave Aurora team. Madam Rachia has special interest in children and loves spending quality time with them, either through playing games, telling  stories, or simply engaging them in conversations.

Fuseini Sumaila

Fuseini Sumaila

Fuseini joined the team as a local volunteer in the year 2021. His contribution and commitment to serve local communities and vulnerable populations offered him the opportunity to secure a Programme Assistant role within the team in May 2023.
He has a diploma in Community Development from Rural Development College and is currently pursuing a degree program in Community and Organisational Development. He is a change agent to society and enjoys working closely with children, young women and women groups. After graduating, he was privileged to work with the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development in the West Mamprusi Municipality and Madamfo Ghana Foundation which has equipped him with essential knowledge in community development.
Fuseini is passionate about his work and always ready to learn and improve.

Samuel Azure Abeene

Samuel Azure Abeene

Samuel works as the Resource Mobilization Officer to ensure resources are readily available for the implementation of BRAVEAURORA projects and activities. He joined the team in May 2023 after an impactful time with TradeAid Integrated, where he worked as the Assistant Finance Officer. He has worked in several positions with other Non Governmental Organizations before joining BRAVEAURORA. Over the years and in line with work, Samuel has developed an unmatched passion for empowering women and the youth to become successful entrepreneurs and job creators.

Baerbel Mueller

Baerbel Mueller

Baerbel lives and works as an architect and researcher in Vienna and Ghana und is architect and planner for BRAVEAURORA in Guabuliga since 2009. She is associated professor at the institute of architecture at the university for applied arts in Vienna, where she runs the lab [applied] Foreign Affairs, which inspects spatial and cultural phenomena in Subsaharan Africa and the Middle East. She is founder of nav_s baerbel mueller [navigations in the field of architecture and urban research within diverse cultural contexts], which focuses on projects on the African continent since 2002. Her work comprises of architecture, research in cities, installations, scenography and curatorial projects; contributions to (and others) Architekturbiennale Venedig, Biennale Marrakesch, Architekturmuseum Pinakothek München, AzW, Vienna Biennale.

She was honored with the Austrian Ars Docendi state award for excellence in science (2015), she is publisher of the books «[applied] Foreign Affairs» (2017) and «Structures of Displacement» (2020), realised the project Nubuke Extended in Accra (2019) and is co-curator of «Ecologies & Politics of the Living» (Wien Biennale 2021). She is co-publisher of forA on the urban (2021-).

Sonja Jöchtl

Sonja Jöchtl

Sonja Jöchtl is founder of Love Politics, a nonpartisan, charitable organisation which wants to lift a new generation of politician into politics.
She was executive of Stiftung Europäisches Forum Alpbach from 2015 to 2021, an interdisciplinary platform for sociopolitical dialogue, indipendent from ideological, religious or political worldviews. Sonja is expert for communication and philantropy with more than 10 years of experience on managing levels of Caritas Austria. She is member of the board at Österreichischer Stifungsverband, former member of the Austrian steering-group UN Global Compact and member of the board at the Austrian Fundraising Association. Sonja started her carrer as a trainee in an Austrian bank at the age of 17, she worked in an IT startup company for 5 years and was editor at an Austrian newspaper (Kurier) for 5 more years, which she did alongside her studies of communication and politics. She has a masters degree in communication (University of Vienna).
Sonja lives in Vienna, is married and mother of two sons.
