Awabu Alhassan joined the BRAVEAURORA team in September, 2022 as the Child Protection Coordinator. In her role, she supervises a team of social workers and community volunteers to mainstream and scale child protection programming. She is the lead person on advocacy and sensitization strategies on child protection. In the main, Awabu ensures that BRAVEAURORA has a robust and functional child protection system.
Awabu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Education, Winneba. Prior to joining BRAVEAURORA, she worked with Plan Ghana on the CBE REACH project that saw thousands of out- of- school children enrolled in school. In this role, she rose from a field officer to District Coordinator working in the Tatale-Sanguli, West Gonga and East Mamprusi districts.
Awabu has a wide range of interest including travelling and caring for the vulnerable.
