No education, no income, no future
In rural northern Ghana, about half of the population lives solely from agriculture. These people have not completed any education, not even primary school. As a result, almost two-thirds (60%) of the people living in the small villages in the BRAVEAURORA area of operation have no monthly income. They are currently still able to survive by farming for their own needs (climate change and natural disasters have been causing crop failures for years), but they have no money for their children's education or for medical care in case of illness. Another third earn up to 10 euros per month. This means that 9 out of 10 people in rural northern Ghana live in acute poverty!
I want to change that!
‘I am now able to provide for my children's care and education myself, and I can also offer my 13 apprentices a future.’
– Munira, 29 years old, mother and owner of a weaving shop
Further information about the BRAVEAURORA Training Centre

- The apprenticeships are offered in many areas, e.g. tailoring, soap making, weaving, baking, beekeeping, welding, plumbing and shea nut processing. Since the training centre was established, more than 1,000 people have successfully completed training, over 80% of whom are women!
