On the occasion of the recent „International Day of Zero Waste“, we want to raise awareness of the unimaginable conditions in which millions of people are forced to live.

As BRAVEAURORA, we are active in Northern Ghana, where many communities face extreme challenges every day. Though, during a recent visit with an Austrian group to Ghana, we also traveled to Agbogbloshie – one of the world’s largest electronic waste dumps.

What we saw there was more than just shocking. It was a stark reminder of the human cost behind our consumption and a powerful warning: the way we consume and dispose of electronics in the Global North must change – urgently.

Toxic smoke, hazardous materials, and unsafe working conditions are part of daily life for those living and working there. This is not a distant problem. It is directly connected to our choices.
