This year’s International Day of Families is marked under the theme “Families, Inequalities and Child Wellbeing.” It draws attention to the persistent inequalities that many families face and how these realities directly affect the wellbeing and development of children.

At BRAVEAURORA, we continue to see families as the foundation of every child’s growth and the strength behind every resilient community. Our work is therefore guided by the belief that when families are supported, children have a better chance to thrive.

In response to the challenges many families face, our interventions focus on:

☀️ Reducing the risk of family separation by raising awareness on child protection, offering family counselling, supporting children’s education, and strengthening the economic capacity of caregivers.
☀️ Supporting household resilience through vocational skills training to tackle poverty which is a direct cause of family separation.
☀️ Working towards family reintegration by supporting children transitioning from institutional care into family-based care, where they can grow up in a safe and nurturing environment.

When families are strengthened and inequalities are addressed, children’s wellbeing improves, and communities become more stable and hopeful.
